Care instructions:

The best way to wash an Angora yarn is by hand, not in the machine. Soak your garment in lukewarm water. The soap or shampoo used to clean it should be of a neutral Ph or mildly acidic in nature.

Fill a bathtub with lukewarm water. Add about one tablespoon of clear, unscented soap and dissolve it by swirling it around, till enough lather is formed. Place the garment in the water and push it down. Gently squeeze the garment. Take care not to twist or pull. Remove the garment from the water and empty the bathtub. Now fill it with clean water and, pushing the garment into it again, squeeze it gently. Again, do not twist or wring the sweater. Lay the garment on a clean dry towel and keep changing the towel and flipping the side of the garment periodically. Take care not to press the garment with the towel as that would flatten the fluffy finish of the wool. When flipping or handling it, use the towel to flip the garment and avoid handling the garment until it dries. Do not hang your knitted item, wring it or pull it as that would cause it to lose shape. Do not dry in the sun.

The Angora fibre of this yarn is a CAREGORA certified selected fibre.

Caregora is angora fibre, whose care in its breeding is managed, not just to meet the European animal welfare standards (98/58/EC Directive of the European Community) but it also complies with the even stricter "Animal Welfare Code of Recommendations for the welfare of livestock" recommended and promoted by DEFRA (the British Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs).

Compliance with this standard has been verified by SGS (formerly Societe Generale de Surveillance). A multinational company headquartered in Geneva, which provides inspection, verification, testing and certification services.

In addition, these guidelines were supplemented by Naturfasern, who developed requirements for the shearing. In particular, guidelines for the handling of the rabbits which ensure that angora is sheared only, so the fibres are gained without harm to the animal.
